Q
I'm afraid I won't have that bikini body that all my friends have for spring break and summer. Should I go on a diet? Work out? It's not that I'm unhappy with my body, it's more that I know that it could look better and I want to achieve that.

gurl:

Gurl, your body is beautiful no matter the size. It’s always tempting to compare each others’ bodies and honestly it’s not healthy. If you want to ‘achieve’ something then simply try and eat better (balanced meals, no super processed foods) and go on a run or something a couple times a week. This will help you feel good and strong, and that will reflect on your body confidence.

Also, check out Inner Subversion’s amazingly awesome post on the subject:

“How to dress for your shape: are you human-shaped? Play up your confidence and natural sex appeal by wearing whatever the f*** you want.

Life Tip: As the weather gets warmer, continue to wear whatever the f*** you want. Flaunt everything or keep it cool under cover. Dress to make yourself feel rad.

How to get a bikini body: Put a bikini on your body.

Want sexy own-the-beach summer legs? Shave, or don’t because they’re your f****** legs.”

Happy bikini season!

xoxo

For Harriet

This post is in honour of Harriet Rowland of Paremata, Wellington, who was laid to rest yesterday surrounded by her loving family and friends. It was a beautiful service for a very beautiful girl.  Harriet was 20 years old and although her life was short, she was grateful for every second of it.
We got to know Harriet through the blog she started in August 2011, which documents the changes in her life after she discovers she has cancer. But don’t be put off by that – her writing is funny and truthful and wise, exactly like the Harriet we got to meet when she visited the set last year.
Harriet’s in the middle.

You can read the rest of the story on Sir Peter Jackson’s Facebook.

Do you ever find yourself not being good at anything, you have no talent, passion or drive. You’re feel like another face in the crowd and just another face forgotten. You try to find something you’re good at but you cant find anything and you get the sad realization you’re going to be stuck in some mindless job because you’re average. Why cant I be good at something, i just want to make my family proud.
